I heard Sarah Layton speak on Blue Ocean Strategy at IMCUSA's Chapter Leadership Summit this month in Chicago, and she really knows her stuff. Blue Ocean is a really exciting methodology for consultants to use to grow their consulting practices and grow their client's businesses. It will be an especially important message at Confab 2010, because also at the Chapter Leadership Summit Tom Rodenhauser from Kennedy Information said that consulting is in a mature stage as a profession and there is little innovation. Tom reported that consulting firms are merely copying each other and "duking" it out in the red bloody ocean of competition. So I say bring on the blue ocean strategy! See you at Confab!
