Conference for Consultants to Feature Keynote on Blue Ocean Strategy

The Institute of Management Consultants (IMC, www.imcusa.org) announces that the 33rd annual Confab Conference (www.confabusa.org) will open with keynote speaker Dr. Sarah Layton CMC FIMC addressing how Blue Ocean Strategy can improve consultants’ consulting practices and their clients’ businesses. Confab takes place on October 23-25, 2010, in Reno, Nevada at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino and features valuable sessions designed to help consultants build and sustain successful consulting practices in tough economic times.
According to Confab Chair E. Michael Shays CMC FIMC, “Blue Ocean is a strategy consultants should understand whether or not it comes to play in their own practice. It focuses on generating new revenue streams, increasing sales and higher profits while reducing costs through value innovation. It’s critical for the success of consultants and for their clients’ businesses.” The 2010 IMC Confab conference is designed to help consultants learn how to launch, build or refine their consulting practice. Attendees will include individual consultants, consultants from small to mid-size firms, internal consultants, executive coaches and mentors, consultants with specialties such as IT, HR, sales, marketing and finance, and prospective and new consultants.

With over 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Layton has achieved the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation as well as the distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC).
