Speaker Biography:
Sarah Layton is the founding Managing Partner of Corporate Strategy Institute, a strategic management consulting firm based in Orlando, FL. In this position she plays key roles in planning the strategic direction for services industries and manufacturing/production industries. A quick study, she immerses herself in learning about her clients and their needs as the first order of business for each consulting or board assignment. She speaks on competitiveness, innovation, management and strategy. Her popular keynote: Blue Ocean Strategy: How to create uncontested market space and make the competition irrelevant (based on the book by Kim and Mauborgne) helps audiences see finally how they can break away from the Red Ocean of competition and swim the Blue Ocean of uncontested market space.
Dr. Layton grew up in her family’s manufacturing business where the principles of integrity, ethics, relationships and good business concepts were instilled at a very young age. After Bachelors and Masters Degrees, she developed and directed a college healthcare program. Later a Fortune 500 healthcare company recruited her for marketing and product development. Having a keen eye for business opportunities she was the founding managing partner of a successful real estate development and management company. She is the former host of Time Warner’s Central Florida Business Review, has presented live broadcast seminars for a satellite television company in Texas, and has presented global teleseminars. She is Qualified in Blue Ocean Strategy tools, concepts and frameworks by the Blue Ocean Strategy Initiative Center, London, and has become known for her valuable, interactive keynotes and presentations around the world including Belize, Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, India, Canada, Argentina, China (upcoming) and USA.
Known and respected for her integrity and sense for doing what is right, she served on the national board of the Institute of Management Consultants USA, is a former Trustee for Florida Southern College, is a Trustee for Junior Achievement of Central Florida Foundation, a Director for Junior Achievement of Central Florida and she sits on corporate boards.
Dr. Layton has been voted a Fellow of the Institute for Management Consultants by her peers, received numerous awards including the 2008 Distinguished Service Award from the Institute for Management Consultants – US, The President’s Award for Service from the National Speaker’s Association, The Distinguished Alumni Award from Florida Southern College and the Marketer of the Year award from American Hospital Supply Corporation. She has attended Director Consortiums given by Yale, Wharton and the University of Chicago. She resides in Orlando, Fl, USA, with her husband, Al, and enjoys golf, bicycling, tennis, scuba, swimming and hiking/jogging.
