Speaker Biography:
Penelope Cagney, MA, CFRE, President of The Cagney Company, management consultants to nonprofits, is the author of a new and ground-breaking book on consulting with nonprofits, “Esssentials of Nonprofit Consulting: What Every Consultant and Nonprofit Needs to Know,” that will be published by Jossey-Bass and the Alliance of Nonprofit Management in September 2010. IMC is featured prominently in the book. Penelope Cagney, has more than 20 years experience as a consultant in North America, Europe and Africa and as an international presenter: she was the featured speaker on Philanthropy Day in Mexico City in 2007, speaker at the 2008 Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Hemispheric Congress and also presented at the 1989, 2006 and 2007 AFP International Conferences on the topic of consulting. She has also spoken at state conferences and local AFP Chapters (Phoenix and Las Vegas). Her clients have included the Charities Aid Foundation of London, the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and the National Cultural Centre of Egypt. She has taught graduate nonprofit management courses for the School of the Art Institute and Columbia College, Chicago, and created an arts management program for American University in Cairo, Egypt.
