This presentation will examine the various types of formal and informal business arrangements that small consultantcies can develop to expand their sales and business presence.  From legal joint ventures to handshake referral arrangements, the benefits and pitfalls of each will be analyzed.

Session Objective / Value

Participants in this workshop will learn about the various types of formal and informal business arrangements that small consultancies can develop to expand their sales and business presence.  Utilizing their over 10 years experience in owning and managing a Human Resource consulting firm, the presenters will describe their own experiences with partnerships, joint ventures, referral arrangements and other types of alliances.  They will relate the successes and missteps involved in their multiple types of business engagements.  The workshop will analyze the business and personal benefits and limitations of each type of relationship. 

Attendees will also be solicited to share their own stories of success and failure as they have attempted to work with others.

Gregory A. Gast

Gregory A. Gast, SPHR has invested nearly a quarter century of his career in the human resources field.  His experiences range from first line service delivery to human resource leader of several major organizations to consultant and business owner.  During the past ten years, Greg has founded or co-founded, two HR consulting firms, a joint venture and established several formal partnerships with other consultants and providers.  In 1998, Greg founded Granatt HR, a human resource management and consulting company.  Through Granatt HR, Greg and his professional staff have delivered a wide range of services such as employee problem resolution, recruitment, policy development, compensation analysis and benefits management.

Over the course of his career in human resources management, Jeff has developed expertise in a wide range of areas, including employment services, merger and acquisition issues, employee relations, training, organizational development, internet recruitment, benefits, and compensation. He brings proven expertise to his executive role at PROXUS, helping organizations to align HR strategies and programs with management objectives.

Throughout his career, Jeff has held HR executive positions at several major healthcare organizations, including Thomas Jefferson University Health System and Tenet Healthcare Corporation. He also headed the Employment Services Team for Fleet Credit Card Services, introducing several innovative staffing and recruitment strategies. Jeff was also was the President and Founder of the Competitive Edge Group, a human resources consulting organization. In 1999, Jeff joined Granatt HR, a human resource management and consulting company, where he serves as Vice President of Business Development and a Partner in the company as well as a Principal with PROXUS.
